Random John reloaded

Anne Dwyer just sent me to Random John reloaded, a biostatistician who writes a blog that does NOT require readers to sign up for a Google account in order to comment.

Speaking of which, Susan says she's having problems logging in.

Is anyone else having trouble?

Everyone else?

I'm starting to think I should have actually looked into Blogger versus every other option before setting up ktm-II.

Apparently snap decisions aren't such a hot idea on the web.

I may have to change my entire personality and character structure if I'm going to keep writing blogs.

  1. How about a blog for people who hate Blogger?

  2. For me moving to the new blogger version and setting up a google account was a hit-and-miss affair. Now that it works, I don't seem to have trouble, except that Blogger suffers from amnesia. I tell it to remember me, and Blogger is constantly making new friends.

I set up an Instructivist blog at WordPress on a whim, just to see what it would look like. I don't like the Presentations much and won't use the blog.

  3. I had a problem logging in a few times initially. Blogger would not recognize my user name.

The last 2 or 3 times logging in for comments have gone smoothly.

  4. So basically the choice comes down to Blogger, Wordpress, or, as Carolyn would say, "roll your own"?

  5. What are "Presentations"?

I like the way your WordPres blog looks....

  6. test.

Okay, I signed up over at Ken's place because he has a link at the bottom of the comments (there used to be one here). It worked over there so I tried to come over here and try it immediately. It didn't recognize me the first time. I re-signed up back at Ken's and now it seems to work. For now.

I did clear my cache and move my cookie thingy up to medium high, but nothing seems to change.

What I can't figure out anymore is where you re-sign up here should it not recognize you or if you're new to ktm.

At least if that link to sign up was put back into the comment box it might be easier than hunting all over the site for where to sign up.

    Maybe I'm missing something...

  7. No trouble commenting, no. But getting to the dashboard is weird. I can only login to my gmail account first. It's the only way the blogger dashboard will recognize me (it won't accept my login).

    Go figure.

  8. If you're thinking about porting KTM to wordpress.com, please let me know so I can inform you ahead of time ...

  9. porting?

I don't like the sound of that.

    I will not be porting.

  10. Oh yay! Thanks for the change in the comments box. I had it minimized in my task bar so I would stay "on", but it wasn't updating.

  11. The only way I can log in is to leave a comment. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
