what is basic for a high school senior?




update - wrong, wrong, wrong

I'm sorry..... this is completely wrong.

I didn't hit the "Submit" button, so the page stayed on its default 4th grade position.

This problem is Below Basic for 12th graders.

Must go back now and check whether the function problem is listed in the category I assumed.

    C. told me tonight, proudly, that the other kids in his class hate fractions, but he does not.

    Also, he is doing the best of the worst kids; he is the top of the bottom of the class.

    We are shooting for bottom of the middle.

    This isn't quite as entertaining, but the fraction problem above is for 4th graders, not high school seniors.

    Er, it's actually quite simple, but you need an expensive calculator.

    Cut the calculator into 5 equal pieces.

    Shade 2 of them.

    Then the answer is...

    Ahhh, basic for a fourth grader. That explains while all my 3rd graders taught with Singapore Math could figure it out without the calculator.

    Has anyone printed out the sample questions from the NAEP test? I'd love to give it to my 3rd grade and see how they do!

    My favorite greeting card ever, which I probably still have stashed away in a box somewhere, had a harshly lit, B&W photo of a hard-bitten woman standing over her sink washing dishes & smoking a cigarette while wearing a cropped fur coat.

    The legend inside was, "I clawed my way to the middle."

    Cassy -- the problems should be easy to print out, though why anyone would listen to me at this point, I don't know.

    Each question page has a "Print" command.

    I think there are lots of other problem sets, too....

    I'll also find the old links at ktm-1.

    I posted a lot of problems there a couple of years ago.
