I use letter tiles to have kids make words. In the ten minutes or so that it would take to make a foldable with three words on it, I could have a kid make and read 20 words using word tiles. It amazes me how many ways can be found to waste student learning time.

Watching the high school English teacher take 8 and a half minute NOT to teach the word "vex" (she gives only a dictionary definition, no examples of the word's use in texts) is mind-boggling.
Taking "complicated" data and making it visual?
ReplyDeleteThere's clearly a fortune to be made reinventing the wheel in education materials.

Not only that, but I was bored enough by her presentation to walk away from the computer.
