why lawyers burn out

"I feel bad for lawyers, [Hanks said.] That's a crappy job, man. That's like doing homework for a living."
BusinessAssociationsblog

I bet lawyers would like their jobs better if they started making foldables instead of writing all those briefs.

  1. Actually I think it would push me over the edge...good old legal analysis tops:
    1. Venn Diagrams comparing/contrasting Daoism, Confucianism, and Hinduism;
    2. composing songs about the Silk Road;
    3. dioramas of the Great Wall;
    4. advertisements for the silk road;
    5. building balloon cars that don't work.
    Those are just the projects for Megan in the last 2 weeks. Writing briefs and reading cases at work is actually relaxing.

  2. Do you remember the Kinko's "He didn't do it!" commercial? A jury is deliberating a murder trial. The foreman summarizes the evidence against the defendant: the murder weapon, DNA tests, a confession, a video tape, etc. For the defense? A giant poster of the defendant, smiling and holding puppies (or something), with the caption, "He didn't do it!".

    The jurors all look at the poster in contemplation. A juror remarks, "Well, I guess he didn't do it.", and everyone nods in assent.
