Catherine, that's fantastic. I could go dredge up my old comment about trying to teach summary writing to my boys last year...

but I think you hit every note.

Wow. Great job, Catherine.

We're having a particularly irritating middle school week around here and your points match perfectly.

I'm glad you went after the columnists and pundits who keep missing the real story and the underlying paradigm shift.

I think it's high time they hire you for a nice op-ed.

I have to try to get in the op-ed business

It's a pain, though

Lots of on-spec writing followed by lots of rejections followed by no money when you do get accepted....

Ed talked to two different college professors today, both with kids in the public schools (both moms).

They take it for granted that they will be reteaching content for their kids' entire school career.

One has kids 5 & 8 and is already "helping with homework" for the 8 year old.

One has a kid in high school; she's been reteaching school content to him for years.

They take this for granted.
