I posted this because in the education world, the idea of accountability (a la the LA Times story) fills people with dread.

But if you were really using minute-to-minute metrics, a la precision teaching & its celeration charts, metrics would feel good.

Agreed!!! I can't wait to make charts for my SAT work because the ad hoc scribbles I'm doing which chart my progress are satisfying....but if I could neaten it up a bit, I'm sure it would be an even bigger sense of accomplishment.
