Christmas books

hmmmm.....

Looking at this list, I don't necessarily see joy and euphoria breaking out Christmas morn' when folks open up their dog-eared Amazon Marketplace copies of War of the Worlds and Deluxe Transitive Vampire.

I will have to do better.

* question: Do I have the nerve to wrap this up and give it to C. for Christmas?

Some random, unsolicited comments on the list.

1) I think more highly of "Childhood's End" than I do of "Rendezvous with Rama." Both are quite good, however.

2) I haven't read "The Haj", but "Exodus" has a lot of tangential history in it. So does "Armageddon: A Novel of Berlin."

3) You can find an on-line MP3 of Orson Welles' production of "The War of the Worlds" here: http://www.mercurytheatre.info/
