Of course, "I would recommend it to the dead" jibes suspiciously with my theory that Something Happened in 1985, and we all are dead (or we're aliens or we were hit by a meteor and catapulted into a parallel universe) and don't know it.
When you think about it, a Jamaican lady you've never met in your life rushing across a crowd to tell a complete stranger she loves her Vitamix so much she would recommend it to the dead is a tad....SCARY.
