Long term debt unsustainable

Alert, alert. Common sense moment just occurred for President Obama.

So why is the government being positioned as the solution to so many of our problems? Inquiring minds would like to know.

Bringing this back to math, I wonder whether we wouldn't have a more responsible government if the public had stronger math skills.

"Bringing this back to math, I wonder whether we wouldn't have a more responsible government if the public had stronger math skills."Math skills have very little to do with it. Collectively, the American people seem to want:
*) More stuff/services from the government, and
*) No increase in *their* taxes.

The politicians are delivering as much as they can be expected to do so.

As long as a majority of the voters are convinced that SOMEONE ELSE will pick up the tab, math isn't much of an issue.

Common sense? I'm not so sure. He wants it to sound like common sense, of course, but this is the same weasel who owns the largest budget deficit on the planet.

He wants to chastise us for credit card usage while lending money we don't have to entities with no hope of paying it back from funds originated with unsecured loans from people who hate us, while at the same time doing everything possible to trash contract law.

Common sense or snake oil?
