geography

"War is God's way of teaching Americans geography."
- Ambrose Bierce
True of me, sad to say.

This morning, studying the Wall Street Journal's map of the Middle East, I noticed for the first time that Sudan is directly south of Egypt.

Also, Libya is next door.

Pathetic.

Hey, I do know my history, which is why I was wondering when the unrest will spread to Carthage...

And we are getting a brand new country from the south of Sudan as of July 9, 2011 if everything goes according to plan.

And then, Africa being Africa, I expect that some other African country will change its name.

I expect that they will deploy their ferocious elephant division to keep the unrest at bay...
