June 22nd?! Wow, our kids have been out for almost a month. May 24th was the last day for students. Of course, we start in early August. They keep trying to pass laws to make the schools start later, but then the districts end up getting waivers so they can start earlier.

The school year just seems to drag on forever.
On the other hand, we don't start in the fall until after Labor Day.
But we're completely out of synch with everyone else. By the time we get back to the Midwest to visit everyone is ready to start school.
I'm giving Ed notice: I'm renting a house in Springfield next summer.
He is WAY not sympathetic to this plan.
This is going to lead to me saying things like, "You can live in Brussels for two weeks but you can't live in Springfield, IL?"
I'm sure he doesn't want that.
